Hand & wellbeing massage · Exeter care homes

Comfort they can feel. Care you can show.

Professional, one-to-one hand massage for older people in your care, easing the ache of arthritis, settling anxiety and agitation, and giving each resident a few unhurried minutes of real human care. Delivered on-site by a therapist who works in a care home herself.

No cost and no obligation: I'll visit and treat three or four of your residents, so your team can judge the response for themselves.

For your residents

Fifteen minutes that can change a whole afternoon.

Hands hold a lifetime of work and worry. A short, skilled hand massage meets older people exactly where comfort is needed most: in the body, and in the mood.

Eases arthritic, aching hands

Warming the joints and soft tissue of the hand helps loosen the stiffness of arthritis, so fingers move a little more freely and the day feels more comfortable.

Settles anxiety and agitation

Hands-on touch is recognised in dementia care as a non-drug way to ease distress and restlessness, supporting calmer afternoons and gentler evenings on the floor.

Lifts mood and supports rest

Releasing tension through the hands and wrists can brighten low mood and leave residents feeling settled, and more likely to sleep soundly afterwards.

Time your team can rarely spare

Each resident gets unhurried, undivided attention. It is the kind of one-to-one moment a busy care team would love to give more often, but seldom can.

Eases loneliness between visits

A familiar, friendly face arriving on a regular day gives residents something to look forward to, and a little company in the stretches between family visits.

Safe, individual and recorded

Every session is adapted to the person, mindful of fragile skin, medication and individual health needs, and written up for your records after each visit.

Honest about the evidence

Massage and touch are part of recognised dementia-care best practice for easing agitation, anxiety and low mood, in step with the national drive to reduce reliance on antipsychotic medication. Every visit is focused on comfort and calm. Outcomes are carefully supported, never promised.

For your home

Good for residents, and good for the things you're judged on.

This is a kindness for residents, and it supports the things a care home is measured and chosen by.

Inspection-ready evidence

Each month I hand you a wellbeing report documenting person-centred care, dignity and residents' lived experience, ready to evidence under the CQC's Caring and Responsive questions.

Calmer residents, fewer flashpoints

A recognised, non-drug way to ease agitation, especially for residents living with dementia, supporting a steadier floor for your team through the harder hours.

Happier families, warmer reviews

A short, kind update to families after each visit creates the regular touchpoints that lift your reviews, build goodwill and head off complaints before they start.

Support for your team

I bring the dedicated one-to-one time staff can rarely free up, plus an optional staff-wellbeing slot to support morale and retention in a demanding job.

A genuine reason to choose you

A named, distinctive wellbeing programme to feature on show-rounds, your website and your brochure, a small point of difference that helps fill beds.

No work for your team

Turnkey from day one: I plan it, deliver it and keep the records. A reliable, friendly fixture in your wellbeing calendar, with nothing extra on your staff's plate.

How it works

Simple to start. Easy to keep.

01

A free taster visit

I come to your home and give three or four residents a hand massage, at no cost and with no obligation. Your team sees the response first-hand.

02

Choose what suits you

Together we agree a simple package to fit your activities budget: how often I visit, and how many residents take part. Families can also fund a named resident.

03

Regular visits & a monthly report

I arrive on the same day each time, treat your residents, and leave you a wellbeing report you can share with families and keep for inspection.

Where it started

Already trusted, already working.

I provide monthly hand-massage sessions at Langford Park Nursing Home, where the response from residents and families has been wonderful, and where the idea for Held Wellbeing first took shape.

About

Hello, I'm Natasha.

I've been a qualified complementary therapist for over twenty years, holding a Level 3 Diploma in Indian Head Massage (IIHHT, 2004) and a Level 3 qualification in Swedish Massage (VTCT, 2005).

Today I work as an Activities & Wellbeing Co-ordinator in a care home, so I understand the rhythm of your days from the inside: the pressures on staff, the importance of dignity, and what really lifts a resident's spirits. My background also includes three years as a domiciliary carer and a year supporting pupils with additional needs at a SEND secondary school, so caring for people with complex needs comes naturally to me.

I'm DBS-checked, kept current on a rolling basis, and fully insured. I currently provide monthly hand-massage sessions at Langford Park Nursing Home, where this service first took shape, and I'd be glad to bring it to your home, too.

Questions

Good things to know

A few of the things care homes and families usually ask. If yours isn't here, just call or send a message and I'll happily talk it through.

What happens in a free taster visit?

I visit at a time that suits you and give a hand massage to three or four residents, at no cost and with no obligation. Your team sees the response first-hand, and we can talk through what a regular arrangement might look like. There's nothing to prepare and nothing to sign.

Is it suitable for residents living with dementia?

Yes. Gentle, hands-on touch is widely used in dementia care as a non-drug way to ease agitation, anxiety and low mood. Every session is adapted to the person and led by how they respond on the day. Comfort and calm are the aim, and outcomes are carefully supported, never promised.

Are you insured and DBS-checked?

Yes. I've been a qualified therapist since 2004, I'm fully insured for public liability, and I'm DBS-checked and kept current on a rolling basis. I'm glad to share my documents with you before the first visit.

How much does it cost?

Packages are flexible and priced per visit, so we can shape something that fits your activities or wellbeing budget rather than the other way round. Families can also fund regular sessions for one resident. The taster is free, and I'm always happy to talk through the options before you commit to anything.

What do you need from us?

Very little. A quiet corner or a familiar communal space, and a rough idea of which residents might benefit. I plan the sessions, deliver them and write up a short wellbeing report afterwards, so there's nothing extra for your team to manage.

Which areas do you cover?

Exeter and the surrounding area. If you're a little further out, just ask and I'll let you know.
